1 New Canadian Age Group , 2 Provincial and 4 Hyack Club Records at Canadian Olympic Trials
Canadian Olympic Trials
Great performance by Hyack swimmers at the Canadian Olympic Trials in Toronto. This long week is far from over but they have already broken several records. In addition to the records and great times, several Hyack swimmers qualified for the Junior final.
The results so far in brief:
Shima Taghavi - 100 Breast 3rd place 1:10.78 - New Canadian Age Group, Provincial and Hyack Record.
Shima is a youngest athlete of the Olympic Trials. After the 200 m breaststroke, Shima broke Allison Higson's (1:10.94) 38-year-old Canadian age-group record in the 100 m from 1986.
Shima Taghavi - 400 IM 15th in the Prelim 5:04.66 - New Provincial and Hyack Record.
Paige Korbely - 100 Fly 9th place 1:02.05 - New 15-17 and Open category Hyack records
The twins Ean and Evan also jumped for the 200 breast Junior Final. Unfortunately Evan got DQ
Evan Vellesscig - 200 Breast 6 th place - 2:24.12
In addition to the finals, Hyack achieved several good results. Good job for Shayda Taghavi 1500 free.
Let's Go Hyack!
